Building Information Model design

Building Information Model design

BIM design is a Building Information Modeling or Building Information Model. That is, in the classic concept of design in CAD (computer-aided) system, developed at the moment in Russia, this is designing in Autocad CAD, which is essentially a digitized model of paper drawings. Separate sheets are drawn specifically on each floor, sections, elevations, and so on. Adjacent sections are developed to the architectural section in a separate file on separate sheets (power supply, water supply and sewerage, heating and ventilation, and so on). This is of course much faster that designing on paper, but still, in case of any adjustments, a problem shall be stated to several designers so that they changed some part in their sections, and it takes a relatively long time. But the most important thing is that such design often includes defects, overlaps of networks and omissions, which in turn causes dissatisfaction of the customer and takes time of the designer to eliminate shortcomings.

When using BIM design, we face a completely new design world. By the example of the office project, I will try to explain the principle of working in this system and its advantages, if deciding to order it from designers applying this technology.
